Mama Mia! It's Nancy's Pizza!

What's up Hot Food family!  I hope that you have enjoyed my last two reviews, and yes I am back again with another.  I love Chinese/Japanese cuisine as you probably guess, but for this review I would like to take a trip to another part of the world.  That part would be italy.  No, I have not beeen to Italy, but if the Pizza there is anything like Nancy's Pizza my next internet stop is Expedia.com to get a ticket.

So if you are tracking on your Atlanta map, for this restaurant we are in Buckhead.  No the prices at Nancy's Pizza are not going to overwhelm you just because you are in the Buckhead area.  The prices for what you get are actually a great value.  With a party of 2 or three I have managed to have left overs to bring home every time I have gone.  Their menu is not just pizza, Nancy's also has wings as well as salads, so try a little bit of everything.

Now, here is the part that I love to tell people about: how good the food is!  I was told about Nancy's from someone who went there before and I was told how good the pizza was, but the first thing that came to my mind was, "yeah right!  Atlanta has a million pizza and wing places.  What would make this place any better?"  I was amazed at how good the pizza is.  I will admit to you that I have never been to Chicago to taste Chicago style deep dish, but I have talked to some people who have, and they tell me that Nancy's is right on the mark.  Let me be specific about which pizza of which I speak. When you go make sure that you try the 'Uncle Tony'.  Uncle Toney is a deep dish pizza stuffed with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers and of course onions.  Now if you are used to Pizza Hut, or Domino's, I am going to warn you now that once you have this pizza you will probably never go there again.  Yes you can get rid of the coupons on the side of the refridgerator, and you can ignore Papa John on those silly commercials, because you have now found pizza paradise and Uncle Tony is your guide.  First of all the ingredients are the freshest that you can get on a pizza, and the sauce has got to be home made (I taste real tomatoes!!) Follow the link to their site and check out the other menu items and I promise you will be pleased.

Ok, so now you are saying, "what is the atmosphere like?"  I will tell you that they have a friendly staff and on Friday nights you get live Saxaphone.  Its casual and laid back, so if you want to impress a date or just hang out with some friends and watch the game, Nancy's is going to be a great choice.

This place definately gets a huge THATS HOT from me and my staff!  Leave me a comment and let me know when you go and what you had!

Ru Sans

Ahhh the mysterious and often misunderstood sushi cuisine.  Some people misunderstand this wonderful food, just due to an American myth.  Sushi is not raw fish as many people believe.  Sushi actually means "wrapped in rice", so the cured sticky rice that is used can be filled with virtually anything.  I am not going to bore you with the details of the history of Sushi, however I am going to tell you one of the best places to eat sushi is Ru Sans!

This place is great!  First of all, I write for all of the folks out there who are living on an eating out budget.  So if I tell you a place is "great" please believe that I have price as well as quality in mind.  The dollar menu is a great value and if you are a sushi rookie, you can try out some things and see what you like.  There is a lot of food on their menu, but have no fear, the staff is more than eager to explain what some of those Japanese terms actually mean.
Yes, the food comes with chopstick, but I am not going to pretend that I know how to use them because I don't.

Let me give you some recommendations.  I loved the Wild Cat sushi roll which is smoked catfish, cream cheese, baby carrots, all rolled up and fried.  My, my, my!  I am a fan!  If you want to go with something simple you can always go with the cream cheese tempura roll (only $1), and they also have a mozzarella tempura roll which is as good as it sounds.

When it comes to price, taste, atmosphere, and service Ru Sans get a resounding

That's Hot
Enjoy, and remember to only eat food that's HOT!!!

The Golden Buddha Experience

Welcome to Hot Food Atlanta!

The purpose of this blog is to give you a guide to some of the best food in Atlanta!  We have no ties to any particular restaurant so you will get honest reviews on each restaurants atmosphere, food quality, service and price!

There is nothing worse than going to a new restaurant and not having a clue if it is worth the price.....well come on by and send someone else by as well!  Let's get this party started!

THE Golden Buddha
part of town: Decatur
type of food:Chinese
Overall Rating:  That's Hot!

Oh there is so much to do in Decatur Georgia.  There are so many parks and movies, and there are so many restaurants.  So where do you do if you want the BEST Chinese cuisine?  I have the answer my friend, head on down to Clairmont Road and check out the Golden Buddha.

There is a reason why this is the first entry in my blog.  This place is everything that a Chinese Restaurant should be. Let me start with the service.  Going in I thought that I was going to get at least average service, but I was oh so pleasantly surprised at how friendly and knowledgeable the waiter was.  The key to someone coming into a restaurant they have never been there before is the server being able to make a good recommendation.  Not only on what to order, but also what NOT to order.  Fantastic.  So I order the Plum Chicken on the first go around.  The food came out hot and fast. I will tell you that this is some great tasting food.  From what I was told, everything on the menu is good, and after peeking over at the table next to me and seeing the food that my neighbors were eating, I tend to agree.  Don't like to wait for re-fills on your drink?  Not a problem at the GB, they are on your drinks like brown on fried rice (I am trying to keep it at a Chinese theme). May I also recommend the egg foo yung.  The portions are huge so make sure that you bring a friend!

So the food is great, but lets talk price.  For how good this food is, I am going to say that the Golden Buddha is a great value.  What I ordered ended up being under $10 (not including the tip).  Can't complain about that.  The Golden Buddha is absolutely a great value, and if you are hungry for a wonderful Chinese Food experience head on over to Decatur.

The GB is a small restaurant so the atmosphere was really cool and laid back.  The smaller restaurant feel means that you don't have the feeling of your waiting getting lost in the back.  The overhead music is light and doesn't overpower your conversation.

To the Golden Buddha:  Keep up the good work.  I am coming back soon!  If you are looking for Hot Food, at a Hot Price and service as Hot as the Kung Pow Chicken, head on over the the Golden Buddha! Oh and they deliver as well!! Click on the link below for more information:
